Better watch out.
Well hello there,
It's good to be back in the saddle, so to speak. As you know, I've been on my holidays and it was definitely a holiday of two halves I can tell you. I whizzed off with my brother Bertie to stay with him and his girlfriend Holly, my tail up, happy as Larry, didn't give mummy a backward glance and there I spent eleven glorious days.
Bertie was mostly working from home so we had a real boy's time together, lots of long walks and swift halves in country pubs during the day, followed by lots of cuddles when Holly came home from work.
As you can imagine, I loved every minute of it, especially when a workman came round and left his shoes by the door (I've got a bit of a shoe/slipper obsession so everyone tends to hide them) I snuck off with one of the shoes and hid in a bush in the garden with it, I wasn't going to chew it....honest.
Nice as it was, when Bertie started to pack my things into his van, I thought, I'm going home and I can't wait to see mummy and daddy.
Boy was I in for a surprise. I couldn't believe it when we arrived at auntie Shirley's the dog minder. I went from being all chilled to shaking like a leaf, which is unusual for me because I'm not an anxious boy at all "Danger? Hah! I walk on the wild side. I laugh in the face of danger. Ha ha ha ha!" But auntie Shirley's, phew, that's a bit scary, in fact, it's a bit like boot camp. I did try to escape, after a couple of days I dragged my basket to the front door, I thought Shirley might have taken the hint and got Bertie to come back for me, instead of which her two Pomeranian's cocked their legs and marked my lovely basket. I was so relieved when mummy and daddy came to collect me, mummy said I shan't be going to Shirley's again because it's just too hectic for me, after all, I do need me time.
One of the best things about October is that us doggies are allowed back on the beach. I couldn't wait to get down there and go to The Shack, I was so excited I ran on ahead of mummy and daddy, but can you believe it, it was shut!
I wasn't budging, I knew if I waited long enough someone would turn up. As luck would have it, my friend Baxter and his mummy did. Baxter's mummy always gives me some of her sausage when we meet at The Shack and she's always got a big bag of treats with her. Mummy doesn't like me having treats but luckily Betty just ignores her and ladles them out.
Anyway, it's lovely being back home and doing all my favourite things and seeing all my friends, look forward to writing again next week......
Love and woofs
