Rising storm.

Hi everyone,

Well, it's been a funny old week. Mummy said it was going to be a mini heatwave at the weekend but it turned out to be a bit gloomy, mind you, despite the cloud it was very warm and I dived into the river when we went for our walk on Saturday and I didn't want to come out. Mummy wasn't prepared for that and in the end she had to take off her shoes and roll up her trousers to chase me downstream. When I'm disobedient like that, daddy puts me on the lead which really cramps my style.

Hey, the weirdest thing happened on Monday, mummy and I were out walking and suddenly there was this strange phenomenon, the sky darkened to orange and it became eerily silent. We rushed home because mummy thought it was the end of the world and we might as well end it watching reruns of Columbo and eating crumpets.

Turns out that storm Ophelia had passed us and red sand and dust from Southern Europe and Africa had been pulled up into the sky, anyway, I've lived to tell the tale and I'm half a crumpet better off for it.

We went to visit mummy's friend, Renee, this week.

Renee lives in a big house with lots of other people, it's called a nursing home. I love visiting because I get cuddles, but more importantly, cake. There's always lots of crumbs on the floor for me to hoover up.

Sometimes I make people smile when I visit, Renee likes to stroke me and take me for a walk, I think it reminds her of walking her dog. Mummy says, it's important to remember people's love when they can no longer remember. I don't know why more doggies don't visit nursing homes and children come to that, we really should all play a role in elderly care, after all, we're all going to get old one day.

I've had a good week meeting up with some doggie friends too. Lacey and I went for a coffee with our mummy's, Lacey is a very good girl and sits quietly, I on the other hand keep whining because I want some of mummy's croissant.

I love playing with Duke, he's a Newfoundland and very passive, I'm more of a passive aggressive sort of  doggie. I don't mind him sniffing my bits, but I'm not so keen on him slobbering all over me.

Although food is my favourite, I love new toys. When mummy comes home with shopping I always ransack her bags. This week I got an elephant and as usual I went mad playing with my new toy, sometimes I drag every last toy out of my box for mummy to play with me, the more toys, the more play time. But, I always go back to my favourites for sucking.

Sometimes I get my hair caught in my mouth and do a skew whiff face, mummy thinks it's really funny, what do you think?

Well, I guess that's it for this week. See you soon.

Love and woofs
