Storm Georgina.

Hi everyone,

Phew, what a week! We've had Storm Georgina and let me tell you, we barely got round the park it was so blustery. Even without the storm, it's been wet, wet, wet and I've had to have a bath every day.

I have to have baths because I like eating mud and if I'm covered in it, I love licking it off, mummy says that's a dirty habit and rushes me home as quickly as possible. A lot of dogs don't like the rain and the mud, I've barely seen any of my friends this week, other than Oswald and Jack.

Mummy says sensible owners don't traipse round the park in this weather, but us boys don't care about it, in fact, we had a good old game of chase and l slid around in the mud like no one's business.

After a bath, I like to do two things, number one is having some of mummy's toast and a little drop of tea in a saucer. We always have tea and toast after our walk, I especially like sourdough toast because it's very crunchy and my favourite topping is houmous.

Number two, I like to play the crazy game. This normally involves my cushion, I drag it all around and mummy tries to grab it off me. One day, mummy didn't let go and I accidentally bit her nose, daddy said "well, it's big enough" which was a bit rude.

Have I ever told you about my friends at the pub? They're two little girls who are sisters. They don't talk to humans very much, at first, they didn't talk to me, but now they do. They also like plaiting my tail and nearly suffocating me with cuddles, I'm very tolerant about it all because they're such lovely girls, oh, and they give me the odd treat.

I'm thoroughly enjoying having Bertie living in my house, although I haven't quite got used to the hours he keeps. Sometimes, when mummy, daddy and I are all snuggled down for the night, Bertie comes in and takes me by surprise. Mummy's ever so proud of me because we've discovered that I'm a really good guard dog. When Bert comes home in the early hours, I shoot downstairs doing my big aggressive dog act, all ready to see a baddie off. I calm down very quickly when I realise it's only Bertie, but I do wish he wouldn't keep catching me off guard. The trouble is, if my sleep is disturbed, I don't want to get up in the morning and I have to pretend my eyes are shut tight, that way, mummy leaves me in bed.

That's not to say I don't still sneak downstairs when daddy's having his breakfast (while mummy's still snoring her head off.) Now, I sneak down a second time when Bertie's having his breakfast and I have a quick cuddle with Danny, Bert's apprentice, before they go off to work and I go back to bed.

We had some lovely weather today and I went a bit giddy with excitement. We went to the beach and I ran off to play with another doggy and quite forgot about mummy. It was so nice, there was a long queue at the Shack, but I found a little patch of grass, like a cushion, to lie on, everyone thought I was such a good boy waiting patiently, some people even took my photograph.

Well, that's it for this week,
See you soon,
Love and woofs
